Dear Comrades,
The 18th convention of our Federation
held at Trivandrum (Kerala) on 27-28th June, 2014. The former Union
Minister of Railway and BJP leader Shri O. Rajagopal was the chief guest of inaugural session of the convention. During blessing speech
he assured the cadre for best cooperation especially on issues of disparity in
promotion & working condition.
The former office bearers’ alongwith ex-office
bearers of the Federation comrades Chintamani, R. Manimohan, Jakaria, Kaushik Roy, A Satish, Ajit KG were also participated
in the convention and shared their experiences for betterment of the cadre. I
alongwith Abhay Singh, General Secretary & Manoj Verma, Asstt Gen Secretary
attended the convention.
During convention it was
felt that average age of officers populating the cadre too would soon go down
by a good ten or twelve years therefore, it was realised that there should be a
generational shift in the profile of the Federation. Thus, Comrades Anupam Neeraj of Kolkata and Abhishek
Kamal of Patna were unanimously elected as the new President and Secretary General
of our Federation.
The issues that confront
the generation next of the cadre too are somewhat different - All India
Seniority, Implementation of CR with natural justice, Inter Zonal Transfers,
New Pension Scheme and the like, and we hope those can be best addressed
by a younger set of office bearers.
Hope for a good start by
the new team of AICEIA.
