New formation will start functioning w.e.f. 15th October positively

Dear Comrades,

We are receiving many calls as to whether new/revised formations of Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax will start functioning w.e.f. 15^th October, or not. The reason behind this query is lack of ACES facilities and allotment of CDR (Commissionerate, Division & Range Code) in the new formations.

As per letter dated 10^th October,2014 of the Board Member (CX) Shri S.B. Singh, after 15^th October, 2014 and till the process of migration of assesses to new CDR is completed, the assessees would continue to pay duty using their existing CDR code.

However, SCNs where necessary would be issued as per new jurisdiction after 15^th October, 2014 as new jurisdictions come into effect from that date. The Hon'ble Member has also issued time-bound guidelines/instructions and expected that migration of assesses to new CDRs would be completed by 30^th November, 2014.

The Board has also issued posting orders of the Chief Commissioners for the new/revised formations under the CBCE vide order dated 10th October, 2014.

 

In view of above, there is no doubt about functioning of new/revised formations w.e.f. 15^th October, 2014.
